Unity Cosmetics products contain no parabens.
Parabens are a cheap preservative added to many different products. Instead of parabens, we choose other preservatives — more expensive, but with no associated risk. We never use parabens as preservatives; we always look for ingredients that are reliable and cause little to no irritation.
You'll find parabens everywhere: in food, sweets and also in cosmetics. On the ingredients list, you'll often see words ending in "paraben", for example "methylparaben" or "butylparaben" — that tells you the product contains parabens. Almost every cosmetics brand uses parabens to extend product shelf life. Liquid products like eyeliner and mascara in particular often contain parabens.
Although parabens are not banned, there has been ongoing discussion in recent years about the role of parabens in the development of breast cancer. Various studies provide no clear conclusion — whether parabens are harmful or not cannot be said with certainty. Knowing how much debate there is, Unity Cosmetics has decided to err on the side of caution and not use parabens at all.
