In general, you can use the guidelines below — but sometimes it's not immediately clear which colour type fits you best. At the bottom of the page you'll find more information and explanations about the different colour types.
Warm bright colours
Women with yellowish or olive skin combined with red-blonde to light-blonde hair are generally the types who look best in warm bright colours. Gold jewellery suits this type best. Radiant, fresh colours work best, provided they're warm. Beautiful colours for these women include: orange-red, coral red, rust red, orange tones, peach tones, salmon, warm natural tones such as wool white, beige and camel, apple green, lime green, grass green, sun yellow, turquoise and light petrol blue (leaning towards green).

Warm muted colours
Women with yellowish, tanned or olive skin and gold to dark-blonde hair with a red accent (copper brown, red brown) are often the types who look best in warm colours. Gold jewellery also looks great on these types. Autumn-like colours often suit them best. Beautiful colours for these women include: muted gold, muted orange, muted red, olive, khaki, deep petrol blue, brown (with a golden undertone), corn yellow, mustard yellow, chocolate brown.

Cool bright colours
Women with pale skin (often with a blue undertone), combined with dark-brown or black hair, are generally the types who look best in cool bright colours. High-contrast colours generally suit them well. Silver jewellery looks better on these types than gold. Beautiful colours for these women include: black, white, bright red, hot pink, lilac, shades of grey, black-brown, green (but not yellow-green), turquoise, ice blue, dark blue.

Cool muted colours
Women with soft pinkish skin combined with blonde to dark-brown hair with an ashy undertone are generally the types who look best in cool muted colours. Pastel shades look very lovely on them. Silver jewellery looks better on these types than gold. Beautiful colours for these women include: all smoky and grey-toned shades, denim blue, grey-blue, wine red, cherry red, anything from mint to dark green — provided it has a blue undertone. Light purple or soft pink also suit them very well.

A bit of everything
Of course, combinations are also possible. You might be a "warm" colour type for whom both bright and muted warm colours look beautiful. There are even women who can carry off both warm and cool tones. So the guidelines above are just a tool — there are more variants than we've described here. Below, more explanation about colours.
The right colour…
You've probably bought a piece of clothing or a make-up product that gave you the full "wow" feeling in the shop because the colour was so beautiful. But when you put it on, you only get reactions like "you look pale" or "are you feeling alright?". The chances are that you've picked a colour that, while beautiful in itself, doesn't really match your skin tone, eye colour and hair colour. The effect can even be negative — you look pale, any irregularities such as marks or fine lines on your face stand out more, and attention is drawn away from your face.
Warm and cool colours
In principle, all colours can be classified as warm or cool. Warm colours have a yellow undertone. True warm colours are earthy — yellow, orange, brown, orange-red, copper and bronze. Cool colours generally have a blue or pink undertone. Typical cool colours are blue, pink, blue-purple, fuchsia, plum and blue-red.
Muted and bright colours
Both warm and cool colours can come in a muted or a bright version. In a muted version, the colour appears to have a slightly grey tinge. In a bright colour, there's little grey and the colours look more vivid or contain more white. Think, for example, of vivid pink as a cool bright colour, pastel purple as a cool muted colour, orange as a warm bright colour, and off-white as a warm muted colour.
